Sacramento County
This is the heart of the "City of Trees." East Sacramento, Land Park, and Curtis Park carry some of the region's oldest street canopy — valley oaks, London plane, and camphor over narrow lots and tight backyards — while Elk Grove, Rancho Cordova, and the newer subdivisions run younger ash and crape myrtle that need training more than removal.
Placer County
Placer splits in two. The valley floor — Roseville, Rocklin, Lincoln — is young subdivision canopy on wide lots, while Auburn, Newcastle, Penryn, and Colfax climb into foothill oak-and-pine fire country. Up there, blue oak, interior live oak, and ponderosa pine sit inside high fire-severity zones, so removals and defensible space go hand in hand.
El Dorado County
El Dorado is foothill tree work: El Dorado Hills, Cameron Park, Shingle Springs, Placerville, and Pollock Pines run oak, ponderosa pine, and cedar across slopes that dry out hard by midsummer. Most of the county sits in elevated fire-hazard zones, so fuel reduction, hazard removals, and Zone 0–2 defensible space are the bread and butter.
Yolo County
Across the causeway, Davis, Woodland, and West Sacramento are flat valley towns with heat-stressed street trees — valley oak, Modesto ash, and sycamore — plus ag-edge windrows and older orchard stock. Summer heat and clay soils drive a lot of the pruning, deadwooding, and removal work out here.
